3 Ways to Create Customer Loyalty in 2018

08/01/2018 | Share:

No matter what type of product your ecommerce business sells, customers want to feel they’ve made the right choice and that you have their best interest at heart. In this blog we take a look at three ways to create and maintain customer loyalty.

1. Provide exclusive repeat-customer discount vouchers

From exclusive voucher codes to early bird access to your business’ up and coming sale, customers like to feel special and that they are being offered a genuinely good deal. However it’s definitely a case of quality over quantity, so don’t be tempted to send out a very low-value discount code or a product coupon which can be found elsewhere.

Therefore offer ‘special’ deals to your existing customers which will help create a strong bond and keep them coming back to your business for more.

2. Celebrate with your customers

Encourage customers to sign up to your email database by promoting a dedicated Birthday offer. Not only will this help you capture valuable customer data, but also give you a really good reason to send an email. To get the most out of the activity, not only should the email contain your good wishes but also a genuine promotion on the specific type of products they like to buy.

Plus, remember to check-in with your customer post-purchase, to ensure they are completely happy with their Birthday purchase. Not only is this a good way to provide excellent customer service & create genuine rapport, it also reduces the chance of a bad review appearing on any forums.

3. Ask customers to refer a friend

Word of mouth is still one of the most valuable marketing tools. Therefore consider launching a “Refer a friend” scheme which benefits both parties. These are relatively easy to implement, it could be as straightforward as providing your existing customers with a voucher code specifically for a friend and then returning the favour by supplying your new customer with a code to share with the appropriate existing customer.

Of course, you will need to ensure the Terms & Conditions of the offer are clearly displayed and you are not requesting any personal data without the consent of the potential customer.

So there you have it, by nurturing your existing customers you can not only generate new leads by reaching out to a lookalike audience but build a genuine bond between you and your customers.
