5 signs that is it time to start outsourcing your picking and packing?

Odgen Fulfilment - Leading UK Fulfilment Centre

Welcome to the brand new (and my first) blog for Ogden Fulfilment.

Over the next few weeks I will write about the history of Ogden’s, to give you a little insight into the background of this much loved and historic company.  But first I will be writing about why we do what we do so well.

Order fulfilment is becoming more and more important, especially with the increase in on-line retailers, but like with any industry you have to do your research to separate the bad from the good.

Below are 5 reasons why outsourcing your fulfilment to a reliable company can benefit your business:

1. You need to lower your overheads

Outsourcing your fulfilment means that you do not have to pay staff to pick and pack your products and you do not have to buy or rent space to keep your products.  Our fulfilment house is a variable cost which means the lower your stock levels the lower the cost.

Outsourcing your order fulfilment with us has no upfront cost, unlike renting your own warehouse and employing staff.  There is also no contract to tie you in, all we ask is that you give us 30 days’ notice of any changes. It is our hope that your business grows so much that it makes sense to open your own distribution centre and that we can help you get there.

2. You need to free up your time

Packing up your stock for delivery can be laborious and waiting in for the courier can be frustrating. Do you have to race to the post office to get your parcels out? What a nightmare!  Let us do this for you! Using our experience and skills we can get the most out of your packaging to keep your costs down and as long as we receive the order before 12pm the parcel will be despatched to your customer the same day.

What could you do with this spare time?

3. You are looking at savings

Due to the amount of products that we both pack and despatch we can get discounts on both your packaging materials and your delivery costs.  These discounts get passed down to you.

Also, with a larger storage space available to you, it would be possible to invest in more stock, bringing down your manufacturing costs.

4.  You need more space

Where is your stock at the moment? Garage? Spare room? Attic? Wouldn’t it be lovely to have that space back? Our clean, dry, secure warehousing could become your very own warehousing department.

5. You need better stock management

Our experienced warehousing team would take care of your stock as if it was your very own.  With regular reports you will always know where you are and what you need.

The truth is it could be much more cost effective and time effective to use a fulfilment service to handle your distribution.  If you would like to have a chat and discuss whether this service is for you, call Sally on 01535 27920501535 279205 or email enquiries@ogdenfulfilment.co.uk
